Iceland – Deep depression on the return journey

Iceland really is an incredible country. Everything is beautiful and pure, the water, the air, the food, the landscapes, …
We really enjoyed the Blue lagoon retreat and the healing treatments and the Blue lagoon and all the little touches.
The Torfhus retreat was magical. The staff were very friendly, the culinary experience was pure delight, and the room was exceptional. This is where we saw our first aurora borealis. They weren’t very bright, but there they were, dancing in front of us. A wonderful experience.
We also made a few culinary discoveries. The Mika restaurant in Selfloss, not far from the Torfhus retreat. There are no words to describe their chocolate cake. The best cake we’ve ever had!
There’s also the settlement in Borgarnes. Really succulent lamb.
It was very windy and in places we had some pretty serious blizzards…. we could see absolutely nothing. It wasn’t just 5 minutes that we had to wait 😂 but it’s true that the temperature changes quickly.
We didn’t see the volcano and the glacier, but we did see some beautiful waterfalls, geysers and mountains and incredible scenery! 
So, we want to thank you most sincerely for the help and incredible job you did in planning and organizing our honeymoon! It was greatly appreciated!
Just a little thing, we’ve been afflicted since Saturday with a deep post-trip Iceland depression….😊 Getting back to normal is pretty painful…. It’s going to take another trip to get over it I think!!!! ☺ See you soon, Eric and Josée
