Comments from a member of one of our expeditions – MY ACONCAGUA

I’ve just come back from a world that rises to the imagination.
From the very first steps, from rampart to rampart, the horizon is lost to existence.
Crushed by the sun, our eyes remain high above the ground.
Spying on the elements, searching for our summit or wandering blissfully.

I can’t stop thinking about the insignificance of our presence.
Tiny in this ocean of mountains splashing our path.
Tiny in this ocean of destinies that stick to our boots.
The days stretch into dust and the nights are useless to me.

This vast world is not arid, for the torrent flows within me.
The gravel rolls under our feet, so that one day it will fall on the clouds.
The mountain knows our presence and gives us its magic.
A snowstorm seasoned with lightning and resounding thunderclaps.

We haul ourselves out of the darkness to reach our summit.
Six thousand five hundred meters, no one will ever know such a landscape to express his love.
The wind took hold of my words, but my eyes said it all.
She knows me, she said yes!

Did I tell you that I felt small in this universe?
It was only to outwit the wind that loves to peddle our words to the attentive peaks.
Driven by passion, exhilarated by effort, animated by complicity.
Love and friendship bear witness to the explosion of our emotions.
Having lived them intensely.

I’ve come to understand that human beings can only be great if we don’t believe our limits.
