Set off on the mythical Haute-Route between Chamonix and Zermatt, linking the two mountaineering capitals on touring skis.
From Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn, you’ll cross numerous cols and glaciers, and enjoy the immensity of high-mountain scenery.

Day 1: Col du Chardonnet – Refuge de Saleina
Overnight in refuge – collective dormitory – D+ : 1270 m / D- : 1672 m
Meeting point at the Grands Montets ski lifts. Ascent to Col des Rachasses.
After crossing the glacier des Rognons, the glacier d’Argentière and the Col du Chardonnet, we reach our first refuge, the Saleina hut, close to the glacier of the same name.
Day 2: Refuge de Saleina – La Fouly
Overnight in a hostel – collective dormitory – D+: 650m / D-: 1600m
From the refuge, climb to the Col de Saleina (3261m) followed by a beautiful traverse to the summit of Grande Lui (3508m).
We descend the glacier to the village of La Fouly, where we spend the night.
Day 3: La Fouly – Col du Grand St Bernard
Overnight in refuge – collective dormitory – D+: 1250 m / D-: 300 m
We leave the high mountains for this day, to climb up the Dranse de Ferret valley to the fenêtre de Ferret at 2698m.
Descent on the Italian side, then a short ascent to the Col du Grand Saint Bernard.
Day 4: Col du Grand St Bernard – Cabane de Valsorey
Overnight in refuge – collective dormitory – D+ : 1700 m / D – : 550 m
Descent from the Grand St Bernard, followed by an ascent towards the Col de Proz (2779 m).
A beautiful traverse to the Proz glacier, then to the Col de Montorge (2881 m), followed by a descent into the valley behind the Col.
We return to the Valsorey hut for the night.
Day 5: Cabane de Valsorey – Cabane de Chanrion
Overnight in refuge – collective dormitory – D+: 800 m / D-: 1300 m
Early start, with a steeper climb towards the Col de Sonadon (3520m). This is a slightly more technical route, requiring skis and crampons.
From the Col de Sonadon, we descend over the Mont Durand glacier to the Chanrion hut.
Day 6: Cabane de Chanrion – Refuge Bertol
Overnight in refuge – collective dormitory – D+: 1700 m / D-: 852 m
Climb the Otemma glacier to the Col du Petit Mont Collon (3292 m), then traverse to the Col de l’Evêque (3392 m).
Crossing the Col Collon (3074m).
After a fine descent of the Arolla glacier, we climb back up to the Bertol hut perched at 3311 m. Magnificent panoramic views of the Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn.
Day 7: Refuge Bertol – Zermatt
D+: 460m / D-: 2085 m
Cross the Mont Miné glacier to climb the Tête Blanche (3724 m), facing the mythical Matterhorn.
We cross the Col d’Hérens (3462m) and descend to Zermatt via the Stockji and Zmutt glaciers. We are now at the foot of the Matterhorn’s north face.
Return to Chamonix on your own.

If you already have experience of ski touring and would like to take your skiing to the next level, this is the trip for you. Discover itinerant ski touring on this exceptional adventure in the Argentière Basin.
You’ll have the opportunity to admire the majestic north faces of iconic Alpine peaks such as Les Droites, La Verte, Les Courtes and Le Triolet.
During this itinerary, you’ll experience 2 nights in refuges, punctuated by memorable cols climbs and thrilling glacier descents. Immerse yourself in the exhilarating atmosphere of the high mountains during this 3-day stay in the heart of the Chamonix Valley, and discover a unique and spectacular setting.

Day 1: Argentière – Col du Tour Noir
Night in refuge – collective dormitory – D+: 600m / D-: 800m
We’ll start our adventure by taking the Plan Joran lift from Les Grands Montets to our starting point at Bochard.
From here, we begin our traverse of the Glacier de Lognan, gradually climbing to the Col des Rachasses, which culminates at 3037 meters above sea level. Our route then takes us across the Glacier des Rognons, before crossing the majestic Glacier d’Argentière.
The refuge is close at this point, but if you’re looking for an even more adventurous experience, it’s possible to continue upwards across other glaciers, with the option of reaching higher peaks, such as the Col du Tour Noir, which rises to 3535 meters.
Day 2: Col du Passon – Refuge Albert 1er
Overnight in refuge – collective dormitory – D+: 800m / D-: 700m
After a short descent from the refuge onto the Glacier d’Argentière, you’ll put on your skins to begin the ascent towards the Col du Passon, situated at an altitude of 3028 meters.
The ascent to the Col du Passon requires you to walk with your skis on your back and use crampons, as the slope, though steep, is still accessible.
Once at the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a superb moderate descent across the Glacier du Tour to the Albert 1er refuge.
Day 3 – Tête Blanche ascent
D+: 850m / D-: 1750m
We begin a gradual ascent across the Tour glacier, eventually reaching the summit of Tête Blanche at 3487 meters.
From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Swiss peaks. Afterwards, we start our descent towards the valley, until we reach the charming village of Le Tour.
A memorable descent along the glacier marks the end of this exceptional adventure.
