Bike&Boat formula

The bike-boat formula offers unique experiences.

Why is the bike-boat package so attractive?

The bike-boat package is attractive for a number of reasons:

Diversity of experience: It combines two very different modes of travel: cycling (sporty, active, land-based) and boating (relaxing, fluid, water-based). This provides variety and avoids monotony.

Accessibility: On a boat, you carry your main belongings (and sometimes even your bed if it’s a hotel boat!), so you can pedal light, which makes cycling more accessible to different fitness levels.

Unique discovery of territories: You explore land and water landscapes that are often inaccessible otherwise: cycle paths along rivers, coastal villages, small islands, canals… This gives you a more complete view of the region you’re visiting.

Comfort and convenience: No need to repack your luggage every day. Your “floating hotel” follows you: you pedal during the day, and return to your boat in the evening, without having to change accommodations.

Conviviality: The boat creates a warm, social atmosphere. Meals, evenings and crossings become shared moments with other travelers.

Flexibility: If you’re tired one day, or if the weather isn’t ideal, it’s often possible to stay on board while others cycle the rest of the way.

Some interesting destinations:

Here are a few destinations that are particularly well known for bike-boat trips. Each of these destinations offers formulas adapted to different levels (sporty, family, quiet discovery).

1. Netherlands

Where? Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Friesland, North Holland…

Why? A cycling paradise with thousands of kilometers of flat, safe cycle paths. The canals and polders provide the perfect terrain for combining gentle boating and easy cycling.

2. Belgium

Where? Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Scheldt and Lys valleys.

Why Belgium? Charming villages, local beers, medieval architecture and a dense river network make for very pleasant boating.

3. Germany

Where? Rhine Valley, Moselle, Bavarian Danube.

Why Germany? Excellent cycle paths (e.g. the Rhine cycle route) and superb scenery: castles, vineyards, forests…

4. Italy

Where? Venice and its lagoon, Po Valley.

Why? Discover Venice in a different way, combining cycling and sailing through the islands of the lagoon and the Italian countryside.

5. France

Where? Canal du Midi, Loire Valley, Provence via the Rhône.

What’s in it for you? Sail along historic waterways through UNESCO-listed landscapes, castles and vineyards.

6. Croatia

Where? Istria, Dalmatia (Split, Dubrovnik, islands of Korčula, Hvar…).

Why? A mix of effort on small coastal roads and swimming in turquoise waters after cycling!
